October 31, 2011 - 12:01 am ETSince taking the helm in September 2010, Dan Akerson has been guiding General Motors' global, dual-brand strategy. One of those marques – Chevrolet – has sold 209 million vehicles in 140 countries in 100 years. The other – Cadillac – is largely a North American product that will be getting big pushes abroad. In the U.S., two years after bankruptcy, Akerson is on course to set a sales mark that none of his six immediate predecessors has been able to claim. He was interviewed at Automotive News offices in Detroit.
